A transbronchial biopsy is an operation to inspect (take out a little component of bronchial tissues) the lung tissues. This approach is solely intended for detecting different lung disorders like infection, inflammation and cancer. The TBLB is conceived with the main objective of obtaining a tissue for pathological purposes from the spleen. This approach enables us to observe:

  • Interstitial lung diseases
  • Pulmonary infections (bacterial, viral, fungal)
  • Lung cancer
  • Sarcoidosis
  • Other lung abnormalities

A transbronchial lung biopsy is a valuable diagnostic tool for evaluating lung diseases. While it carries some risks, it is generally safe and provides critical information that can guide treatment decisions.
